NLCGA Short Course Competition 7th August, 2009

Eight girls took part in the NLCGA 2nd Short Course Event of the season last Friday 7th August at The Norfolk Par 3 course.

The eighteen hole strokeplay competition (for girls without a CONGU handicap), was won by Eloise Seaman, age 11 from Royal West Norfolk with an excellent score of 75 gross. Chloe Rowswell, age 8, came second with 81, and Chloe Tranfield, age 10, was close behind with 83, both girls having attended the County Academy coaching sessions for beginners earlier this year. Eloise’s younger sister, Charlotte age 9 came fourth with 90.

The third and final competition of the season will take place on Friday 28th August at The Norfolk and girls yet to attain their CONGU handicap, and aged 13 and under, are invited to take part.

Hole in One for Hannah

In the first competition this year for girls without handicaps, held at The Norfolk par 3 course on Thursday 28th May, Hannah Francis, age 11, of Royal Norwich Golf Club  had a hole-in-one on the first hole, second time around, and went on to win the 18 hole competition with a gross 70. Hannah, a member of the County Birdie Squad, previously won the Spring Meeting nine hole Adult and Junior Greensomes with Grandfather Peter Hamlin in April. She has been playing since she was six years old.

 Runner-up was Amelia Williamson, age 8, from Royal Cromer with a 76

3rd was Victoria Woodier - 80

4th was Eleanor Brown - 80

Thirteen girls took part.

The next competition will take place on Friday 7th August at The Norfolk and girls yet to attain their CONGU handicap, and aged 13 and under, are invited to take part. Contact:
